As stated on the Cane Masters page on this website, a governing body is now being formed regarding all aspects of the Cane in the United Kingdom.
This page will contain all information regarding the Cane.
Where Canes can be bought, listing of Cane masters in the UK, Listing of Cane Dojos and websites, Seminaries and coaching Courses infact anything to do with the cane will eventually be found here.
For those who are interested, I will eventually be adding a newsletter section to this page and if anyone would like either one sent to their Email box, or, sent to their home please contact me by phone or Email me and I will put you on the mailing list.
It is a very exciting time as far as the Cane is concerned as this venture has not been tried before in this manner, be a part of it....

My primary responsability for the Cane in the UK is for people who have disabilities who would like advice on the subject of the Cane.
I also, teach the Cane system designed around the Aikido Weapons Sylabus for the Cane and The exercise system.
I have been very busy throughout the last few months traveling to London and Kent area promoting the Cane and Canemasters.
There has been imense interest shown and I hope within the next year or so, to develop the cane in the above areas and establish the Cane in the UK.

It gives me great pleasure to announce that Grandmaster Mark Shuey has been presented with a Certificate from the Y.B.A. Yodokan Budo Association for his work with the Cane Worldwide, and Now is Senior Director for the Cane in the above Organisation.
He is Director both for the Canemasters System (The American Cane)and, for the Universal Cane System.
He is now a member for life and as far as I know, he is the first American to become a Member of the Yodokan Budo Association, it strengthern our links with the US and establishes and links the Universal Cane System to the to the Canemasters American Cane System.
We would like to thank Grandmaster Shuey for all of his encouragement and help over the last few years and, all of the work that he has done for the in the World: (The real and the Martial Arts).
We all look forward to sharing with him our knowledge and learning from him all that the Cane has to offer.
Lastly, I would like to personally thank him for his work with the Disabled people, (So called Disadvantaged) both throughout the US, Europe and the UK.
The Aim and Objectives for the UCC (Universal Cane Council) will be:
To maintain Links with Canemasters US and Europe.
To oaversee all Cane Dojos (Members of Governing Body) in UK.
To Vett all cane instuctors.
To properly register and Cirtify all Cane Teachers/Instructors belonging to the UCC, (Governing Body.
To establish and maintain a Cane Sylabus, and Create a Grading structure (Japanese Style).
To deal with insurance and membership for both Instructors and Students.
Organise Coaching Seminaries.
Arrange Seminaries for Grandmaster Mark Shuey for the UK.
Set up a Constitution and Rules for safety for Cane practices.
I sincerely hope that this will go a long way to help keeping the so called "Cowboys" out of the World of the Cane.

It is with great pleasure that I can now announce that Mike Selvey Kyoshi has now become the first official UCC japanese style grade for the Cane. He is 2nd Dan. This has been awarded to him for his untiring work and dedication and promotion of the Cane in his area and for all the work I know that is to come in the future. I feel very honoured to be able to award this grade and the CMIA are at this present time, assessing Mike for an award from their directors/instuctors. I know that he will be worth what the CMIA award him and i look forward to working closely with him to promote the art of the Cane in the UK.
So far, Crand Master Mark Shuey is very impressed with our work and we all hope that the link now formed will strengthern the study of the cane for the future.

At this moment in time, a seminar is being planned for either the end of January or early February 2008. It is hope to hold the seminar in the county of Essex South end area.
If anyone is interested in attending this seminar, please could you let us know as soon as possable as space will be limited and just turning up could lead to disappointment.
Costs and other details will be posted here as and when I have them. So, do return here regularly for more details.
I will also include here a brief summary of the seminar so you will know what to expect.
